Go surfing
Going for a surf? If you’re keen on surfing in Lorne, check out the surf schools along the beachfront. Take a plunge into the waves and try out your surfing! Ride the gentle waves of Lorne, and splash around. The waves here are suitable for all abilities! Hire a surfboard or a wetsuit near Lorne at one of the surf schools! The waves here are relatively forgiving, and there are perfect spots for beginners as well as pros.

Continuing after Lorne? Visit the 12 Apostles near Apollo Bay
Visiting Lorne wouldn’t be complete without carrying on the Great Ocean Road and down to the 12 Apostles!
Continue further down the Great Ocean Road until you get to Port Campbell – which is the town near the 12 Apostles and Apollo Bay.
This famous rock formation has attracted thousands of tourists every year. It offers picturesque views out to the ocean – they are sandstone rocks that jut dramatically out of the waves. Take a wander down the Gibson Steps to see these rocks in all their glory!
Go to a wine-tasting
Victoria is a hub for great wines, and the Great Ocean Road is no exception! If you go to a wine tasting in Lorne, you can expect to taste some yummy local wines that pack some serious flavour.
Waterfalls
Go for a hike around the waterfall! Erskine Falls is at the bottom of a hike that winds down a pathway and ends up in a pretty rock pool. Erskine Falls is only a 15-minute drive away from the town of Lorne, so it’s worth going into!
There is a great hike at the bottom of the waterfall too.
